About Albemarle CiderWorks
Albemarle CiderWorks tasting room is now open for visitors. We offer tastings of our five ciders for a fee of $5 per person. Our hours of operation are 11 AM to 5 PM, Wednesday through Sunday. Our orchard fruit is available next door to the tasting room in season.

Virginia Hewes Crab
The epitome of American cider dating from Thomas Jefferson, and before. Hewes Crab originated in colonial Virginia, dating from the early 1700's. The cider of this apple possesses body, flavor and complexity unsurpassed by any other apple. Most of the apples in this cider were grown in the cider orchard at Monticello, a re-creation of Jefferson's cider orchard. It is our reserve cider, and is only available through our tasting room. Stop by on your travels to Charlottesville, and enjoy the cider that Thomas Jefferson and his guests may have enjoyed.
