About Annefield Vineyards

Opening April 2010. Annefield Vineyards is a boutique winery specializing in small lots using classic Virginia varietals: Viognier, Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon. We are located in beautiful Charlotte county within easy driving distance of Richmond, Charlottesville, Lynchburg and Danville in Virginia, and Durham, Raleigh and Greensboro in North Carolina. Our vineyards provide outstanding grapes that, in the knowledgeable hands of our winemaker, reveal the intense fruit quality resulting from our rigorous viticulture while expressing the balance and elegance of the European tradition. Please come and experience the finest Southern hospitality when sampling our wines in our historic antebellum farmhouse.

Viognier

2008 Annefield Viognier
This wine has a beautiful honeydew melon and honeysuckle nose with grapefruit zest and mineral notes and hints of citrus and orange blossoms. Fresh fruit characteristics give way to a smooth finish. This refreshing wine’s clean, light, crisp flavors and silky texture pair well with fresh brie and pecorino cheese, sourdough bread, seafood, chicken and pasta. Composition: 100% Viognier. Alcohol: 13.7%. 22 cases produced.

Red

Red Wine Blend

2008 Annefield Red
This wine has a deep ruby color. Aromas of cherries, dark berries and cedar jump from the glass of this rich, full-bodied and smooth Bordeaux-style blend. Cassis, cocoa powder and a hint of black pepper fill the palate. Good acid and firm, round tannins assure this classically balanced wine’s ability to age gracefully for the next 7 to 10 years. Serve with hamburgers, roast lamb, beef ribeye, filet mignon and roast duck. Composition: 40% Cabernet Sauvignon, 40% Cabernet Franc, 20% Merlot. Alcohol: 12.8%. 128 cases produced.
