About Barrel Oak Winery
RELAX and DISCOVER our new destination winery on I-66, one hour west of downtown DC and a world away. Enjoy great vintages and sweeping historic vistas. Explore the hand-built winery & underground cellars & catch the sunset from our huge inviting stone patio.
Hours of Operation
We're open Fridays till 9pm inside or outside on the patio! Hang with your friends, dogs (on leashes, please) and family and watch our awesome sunsets after work. Great wine and lite fare served or bring your own picnic lunch or dinner anytime. Children are welcome and we have juice boxes for the kids!

2008 Reserve Chardonnay Done in the old-world style, this Chardonnay is light with nice floral aromas. With its orange citrus flavors and hints of vanilla, this wine is perfect with seafood, poultry, or soft-ripened cheeses.

2009 Refreshing, crisp & light with flavors of citrus and lemon grass. Great with fresh salads, Asian cuisine and seafood.

2009 Fermented and aged in stainless steel tanks, this wine is crisp and refreshing. Aromas of tea rose and jasmine with a light citrus finish.

2009 Late Harvest Vidal Blanc A dessert all by itself! Our first 100% estate-grown wine, LHVB is full of tropical aromas, complemented by a honeyed sweetness. Great over peaches and plums, or paired with some cheese and crackers.

2009 Bowhaus White Sunshine in a glass! Done in a Riesling-style, this is slightly sweet blend of Vidal Blanc, Sauvignon Blanc, Seyval Blanc, Chardonnay, and Viognier.

2009 Rose This traditional French-style rose is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Petit Verdot, Cabernet Franc, and Merlot. This dry, but fruity rose is our most food-friendly wine that can pair with a heavy red meat dish or a light poultry or fish dish.

Peanut's Petite Cuvee A blend of Merlot and Vidal Blanc, this wine is served chilled and is perfect for the summertime. Fruity and slightly sweet. In honor of Peanut, a Lost Dog rescue, a portion of the wine's proceeds with be donated to Lost Dog and Cat Rescue Foundation.

2008 Bowhaus Red This light-bodied red is perfect for any and every occasion. Fruit with hints of spice. A blend of Merlot, Syrah, Chambourcin, and Malbec.

2008 Bowhaus Joy This juicy, bright, and peppery wine light-heartedly tempts the palate and pairs with everything including cheese, nuts, breads, and sweets. Full-bodied with a passing sweetness that makes it an easy-sipping, enjoyable wine. 70% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Merlot. Barreled in French, Hungarian, and American oak.

Light Fare from our Pantry
Our light fare items include: A combination meat and cheese platter with baguettes, an artisanal cheese board with baguettes, hummus with pita chips, bruscetta with garlic toast rounds, a brie cheese platter with crackers, and a goat cheese platter with crackers.
