About Hartwood Winery
We invite you to come and visit us out in the beautiful Fredericksburg countryside. Be sure to bring your children. All are welcome, and our fields are ready for your little ones to explore while you are exploring our samples of wines. In addition to the wines, we offer light snacks and beverages. We also have a wide assortment of wine gifts for that wine lover in your life. Enjoy wine and cheese on our deck or around the winery grounds or bring a picnic. We are also pet friendly. Through out the year we have special events onsite: live music, barrel tastings, guest wineries, wine fests. Check our list of events or visit our website for upcoming festivals and music. Year round. Wed-Fri, 10am-5pm. Sat-Sun, 10am-6pm. Please note that the first hour we are open (10am-11am) is by appointment only. Closed major holidays.

A dry wine with soft fruitiness, reminiscent of ripe apples and pears; enhanced by the eight months spent in oak - both French and American. These rich complex flavors perfectly complement cream sauces and many foods.

A semi-sweet wine with robust melon and tropical fruit flavors. a marvelous match for curries or spicy foods. Made from the Vidal Blanc and honors the first commercial vineyard in Stafford County.

Hartwood Station White
The absence of oak allows the fruit to dominate. Chardonnay adds nuances of apples and pears, Viognier adds hints of perfuminess, and Rkatsiteli contributes the subtle spiciness, making this wine perfect by itself or with fish, fowl, or pork.

A medium dry wine that is a blend of Seyval Blanc and Vidal Blanc. Matches well with all types of food; great on a picnic, or just sipping while relaxing on the patio, porch or deck.

Rappahannock Rose
Dry Rose... This traditional styled rose' wine is dry and made predominantly from Chambourcin but not fermented on the skins of the grapes. Soft cherry-like flavors balanced by hints of citrus allow this wine to be enjoyed as an aperitif or with light foods.

Aromas of black cherry with hints of chocolate evolve into bright cherry flavors with soft toasty oakiness, with lingering hints of green tobacco and spiciness. 2012 Silver Medal Winner.

A light, fruity, blended red wine in the Beaujolais style. Aged completely in stainless steel. A perfect match with barbecued or grilled foods, tomato based pastas, and even chocolate! Can be served slightly chilled which will enhance the natural fuitiness of the wine.

Aromas of soft blackberry continue into rich jammy flavors enhanced by the spicy nuances of oak aging, with soft fruity complexities lingering on the palate.

Claret...Our Claret is dominantly Cabernet Sauvignon from a younger vineyard that is enhanced by six months of aging in American oak barrels. A little Merlot and a touch of Cabernet Franc are blended together to round out the palate.

2010 Tannat
A French varietal relatively new to the Virginia region; aging in oak for 21 months has produced the right balance of tannins. Cellaring will reward you with a deeper complexity for this quality wine. As this is a young wine, decanting will evoke aromas of raspberries, cherries and chocolate so you can enjoy now. This wine goes well with hardy meats and well-aged cheeses.
