About Sunset Hills Vineyard LLC
Sunset Hills Vineyard produces award winning wines from a historic farm in western Loudoun County. Our winery is in a relaxing and pastoral setting with panoramic views of the Blueridge and Short Hill Mountain ranges. Our Amish restored 130 year old barn with two story decks, spring house and corn crib offer a beautiful sunset view of the valley. We hope you come and visit us soon!

Sunset Hills Vineyard 2007 Unoaked Chardonnay Cool fermentation in stainless steel tanks yields a crisp and well structured Chardonnay, with apple, pineapple and citrus blossom flavors. No malolactic fermentation helps retain the bright fruit flavors and aromas. This wine is best consumed within 2-3 years of bottling. 150 cases produced.

Sunset Hills Vineyard 2007 Reserve Chardonnay A richer and more complexly flavored Chardonnay, layering toasted almond and softened buttery flavors with the tropical flavors of our Chardonnay. Malolactic fermentation softens the acidity, and the 100% French oak barrique aging adds complexity and richness. Pairs well with poultry and seafood, cream sauces and pork dishes. Wine is ready to drink now, and will continue to develop over the next 2-3 years. 210 cases produced.

Sunset Hills Vineyard 2008 Viogner A wonderfully aromatic wine with huge amounts of pineapple, citrus, and honey on both the nose and mouthfeel. This wine shows a suitable balance between our signature Viognier fruitiness and a lightly creamy, smooth body. Will display further complexity for 2-3 years.

Sunset Hills Vineyard 2007 Cabernet Franc Our most popular wine, representing an exceptional growing year. Dark garnet color, with brilliant clarity in the glass. Ripe aromas of plum and fig, exploding with ripe fruit flavors on the palate. Aged one year in French and American oak barriques, this wine has matured into a balanced rich red wine. Pairs well with grilled vegetables and meats, and tomato based dishes. The 2007 Cabernet Franc is ready to drink now, and will continue to develop over the next 3-5 years. 300 cases produced.

Sunset Hills Vineyard 2007 Cabernet Sauvignon Two-thousand seven yielded our ripest Cabernet Sauvignon fruit to date. This wine shows an intense nose of cherry fruit, plum, vanilla, and spice-filled tobacco, with a robust, buttery body showcasing the wine's standard black currant flavor, and a very calm, understated finish topped with lightly spicey tannins and a lingering fruit note. This wine was made in small quantities and is sold out.

Sunset Hills Vineyard 2008 Sunset Red Our 2008 Sunset Red is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Malbec. A fruit-forward wine dominated by ripe black cherry flavors, it pairs well with lamb, pork, and beef. This wine is ready to drink now and will continue to develop over the next 3-5 years.

Sunset Hills Vineyard 2008 Merlot Vinted in the traditional style, this wine shows bright cherry fruits intermingled with green herbs and a striking slate quality. Held together with soft tannins and a silky mouthfeel, the 2008 Merlot was created to accompany a wide range of dishes, including Italian cuisine, pork roasts, and grilled vegetables.

Sunset Hills Vineyard 2007 Nettare (Dessert Wine) Nettare di Tramonto meaning “sunset nectar”, is produced from late harvest Chardonnay grapes, producing a luscious, silky wine. The super- sweet juice was slowly fermented over the winter in a single neutral French oak barrique, until the wine reached our goal of 6% residual sugar. Luscious aromas of pear and pineapple, with light flavors that dance on the tongue, this wine is meant to be enjoyed chilled with strawberry and chocolate. Readyto drink now. 26 cases produced.
