About Sweely Estate Winery
Formerly called Acorn Hill Winery, Sweely Estate Winery has sweeping views of the Blue Ridge Mountains and a magnificent Hospitality Center offering a tasting room & terrace; retail boutique; and art gallery. The Vintners Room is available for weddings and other private events. Blending old world tradition with state of the art technology to produce premium wines.

2007 Wolftown Chardonnay This steel-tank fermented blend of Chardonnay & Vidal Blanc delivers to your palate a perfect balance of crisp acidity and a round mouthfeel to balance the bright fruity finish. Pair it with shellfish on the grill or in a pasta.

2006 Acorn Hill This 100% Chardonnay drinks just as a Burgundy-style. It is a good marriage of the acidity with the toasty soft influence of 35% new French oak. Pair with fresh lobster, roast chicken, or a Sunday Brunch omelet.

2007 Sweely Estate This crisp, stainless-steel fermented Pinot Gris has mineral and citrus notes with lively acidity. 100% Pinot Gris entirely from our Estate Vineyard. This is an any-occasion wine for raw and grilled seafood, chilled summer soups and oysters for the winter holiday celebrations.

2007 Wolftown Reisling This classic Riesling is spicy and fruity, with lively acidity, and a memorable finish. Pair it with Thai or Asian-style summer grill dishes.

2006 Acorn Hill Classic Viognier characteristics has just the right balance of acidity and softness from the 35% of the wine aged in new French oak. Pairs well with the sweet and savory blend of spices found in Thai food, and some Indian dishes, such as Chicken Tandoori.

2007 Wolftown White Another steel tank fermented white, this blend of 65% Chardonnay and 35% Vidal Blanc is a semi-sweet wine with a fresh and lovely roundness on the palate, through the finish. Pair this with a spicy fish dish.

2006 Acorn Hill This is a rich Cabernet Franc with a tinge of Merlot. The cabernet franc aged in stainless steel tanks. The acidity and tannin level tells us that you will enjoy this wine for several years to come. Rich short ribs would be a perfect pairing.

Meritage Blends

2006 '1867' 3 Gold Medals! Our first release of 1867 is a blend of 75% Merlot and 25% Cabernet Franc, aged 12 months in new French Oak. Pairs well with a filet mignon in a rich reduction sauce.

2006 Acorn Hill Our first Merlot has a bit of Malbec, Petit Verdot and Cabernet Franc to round out a well-balanced, medium-body wine. 35% was aged in new French oak for eight months, this wine pairs well with roasted salmon, beef bourguignon (remember to use it in the recipe, too) and summer beef kebobs.

Red Wine Blend

2007 Wolftown Red This blend of Merlot and Cabernet Franc has been touched by oak, but still has a bright and fruity nose that continues to the palate. A great red for summer picnics and spaghetti Bolognese.
