Petit Verdot

AmRhein's 2019 Petit Verdot

AmRhein's Signature Wine - 'First in VA to bottle as it's own varietal.'
This is our signature wine and 2019 produced the best fruit we can remember. The wine is full bodied, rich and complex, boasting flavors of caramel and dark chocolate with loads of black fruits all continuing to deliver on a lingering finish.

VINTAGE NOTES
This wine is best served at cellar temperature and decanted as it is unfiltered and contains some sediment. The sediment, we like to call 'Wine Diamonds,' is actually heart healthy and will not hurt you.

VITICULTURE & VINEYARD SITE
This Petite Verdot hails from our Franklin County Vineyard on the shoulder of Cahas Mountain. This vineyard features a south facing slope at 1700’ elevation on the eastern side of the blue ridge plateau. The soils are red with granite rock and drain extremely well.
WINEMAKING
It was fermented to a complete dryness and has a pH of 3.88.

TASTING NOTES & FOOD PAIRING
Winemaker suggestion is to enjoy with wine with lamb chops or venison tenderloin. A delicious lamb chop recipe is included for you to try with this wine.

All AmRhein's wines are made from 100% estate grown grapes cultivated in our three vineyard locations in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia since 1995.
