Cider Smackdown 2026: The Single Varietal Showdown

Join us for an evening of cider tasting, charcuterie, and conversation with cider enthusiasts and makers from across Virginia!

Cider Smackdown is back for another year, bringing Virginia cideries together to go head-to-head in a friendly competition celebrating the craftsmanship and creativity of our state's cider makers. This year's showdown puts the spotlight on single varietal ciders, each crafted to showcase the unique character of one apple variety. Taste how different apples bring their own flavors, aromas, and personalities to the glass, and discover just how much variety Virginia's orchards have to offer.

Taste your way through the lineup, discover what makes each cider unique, and cast your vote for your favorite. Along the way, you'll have the chance to sharpen your tasting skills, enjoy bites from our grazing table, and mingle with the cider professionals and fellow enthusiasts who make Virginia's cider community so special.
