Vidal Blanc

Chère Marie

Chere Marie is pronounced "share Marie" and means "dear Marie." Marie is the matriarch of the Breaux family as she is the mother of Paul Breaux, the owner of Breaux Vineyards. Vidal Blanc is the hybrid grape that put Canada on the world map as a high quality producer of wines. Vidal Blanc, like Seyval Blanc, can produce a very nice wine even in cold temperatures.

Tasting Notes:

Color: Straw

Aromas: Stone fruits, especially peach and apricot, with flavors of melon, grapefruit and orange blossom

Taste: Medium-bodied semi-sweet wine with intensely fruity flavors of grapefruit and white flowers. Crisp, clean acidity and a lingering and complex, almost herbaceous finish. Refreshing and elegant.

Food Pairing: Pairs well with spicy cuisines such as Cajun, Indian, Thai, etc. This wine is also a great sipper on its own on a hot summer day!
