Vidal is a fruit forward grape that is as versitile as Riesling - it can be fermented dry or sweet. We fermented this Vidal dry although it has pleasant fruit on the palate making it a crowd pleaser. Can be paired wtih a variety of appetizers, turkey, fish, pork, and savory cheesecakes.
The 2015 Vidal Blanc is made in a completely dry style, highlighting lovely stone fruits. The aromatic nose showcases bright nectarine, melon, and passion fruit with hints of wet granite. The mouth feel features suggestions of honeydew and honey blossoms, balanced by firm acidity and a strong intensity. It has a silky texture and the finish is wonderfully long.
Pair with: Asian chicken salad, poached fish (try poaching it in this Vidal Blanc!), Brie, Camembert or Chevre will also pair nicely.
