Adeliza

Adeliza, Countess of Aumale, was born circa 1030. She was the sister of William the Conqueror, who conquered England in 1066. Married three times, her third marriage was to Odo, Count of Champagne. She was one of the few women to have held extensive lands in both Normandy and in England at the same time, making her one of the most powerful women in Europe. She was highly devoted to the church and died in Aumale before 1090.

Adeliza is an off dry aperitif or dessert wine, made solely from the Petit Manseng grape. This first iteration, 2013 Vintage, is fruit driven in a slightly oxidative style with unique oak impact from 30 year old Cognac barrels. The Cognac can be sensed both on the nose and on the palate.
