Come and Meet the Animal Ambassadors. The Rockfish Wildlife Sanctuary is a nonprofit wildlife rehabilitation organization serving Central Virginia. The Sanctuary cares for over 900 injured and orphaned native animals every year, a number that has been rising annually due to the impacts of climate change and urban expansion throughout Virginia. The organization also has a robust education program featuring their team of ten charming non-releasable education ambassador animals.
With a gorgeous indoor facility, dozens of outdoor enclosures nestled across 20 quiet, wooded acres in Nelson County, and a team of 5 licensed wildlife rehabilitators on staff, the Rockfish Wildlife Sanctuary is uniquely poised to provide recuperating wild animals with a natural and safe refuge to call home while they prepare for release back to the wild.
