Veritas Reserve

The Reserve is the flagship in our fleet of Veritas red blends. The Reserve is made through an intensive sampling of all of the barrels in the cellar to determine the perfect master blend. The vision of the finished wine is determined by the potential of its parts, and when putting the wine together, Emily is really looking for approachable structure yet great ageability.

The blend on this 2023 Reserve is vastly different from previous vintages due to the fact that Petit Verdot and Cabernet Franc have switched places in the blend again (but just barely)! The 2023 vintage was fabulous for Petit Verdot, with a long dry harvest, and therefore it sits in the leading seat of this wine. The blend is 38% Petit Verdot, 34% Cabernet Franc, 20% Merlot, 8% Malbec. It is deep garnet in color, and the bouquet is a deeply integrated balance of leather enveloped in an aroma of fresh black fruit. Luscious flavors of blackberry unfold with rich tannins on the palate, leaving a structured and elegant finish, accentuated with complex flavors of caramel and mocha from barrel aging. The 2023 Reserve spent 16 months in French oak (70% one and two-year barrels). Drink now or age beautifully until 2035.
