Momentarius Red

This is our Momentarius series of blends, crafted specifically for our Wine Club Members. We are embracing and truly enjoying the concept of creating a forever-evolving label that focuses on producing intellectual wines for our most devoted consumers. Momentarius means ‘momentary’ in Latin. These are wines that do not fit into categories, and in small production, they exist only for a moment. They are new ideas and practices that really lean on Mother Nature to guide us so that we can show her hand in the finished wine. These aren’t wines we can plan; these are ideas that are formulated based on what the sun, rain, dirt, and wind of the vintage give us. Momentarius wines are bottled for you to follow our ideas and reactive creativity.

This 2023 Momentarius Red is our first single-varietal Tannat. The 2023 vintage was ripe and gorgeous, making it the perfect year to showcase this grape. Known for its immense tannins and deeply inky color, this wine is quite a step away from the previous blends in this collection. Often described by owner Andrew Hodson as the ‘iron fist in a velvet glove,’ this wine is intensely layered with beautiful fruit and tannins. Soft tannins on the palate accentuate the amazing aromatics of raspberry, plum, and blackberry.
