This is our Momentarius series of blends, specifically put together for our Wine Club Members. We are embracing and truly enjoying the concept of creating a forever-evolving label that produces intellectual wines for our most devoted consumers. Momentarius means ‘momentary’ in Latin. These are wines that do not fit into established categories and are produced in small quantities; they exist only for a moment. They are new ideas and practices that really lean on Mother Nature to guide us so that we can show her hand in the finished wine.
With this version of our Momentarius series, we had two main goals. The first was to produce our first 100% hybrid wine, a blend of Traminette and Vidal Blanc. We used a yeast that preserves freshness while accentuating the grape's floral qualities of the grape. Our second goal was to stylistically change the wine. We have always made Traminette into a dessert wine with some sweetness, so this version is dry and fresh with no residual sugar. The wine is gold in color, with pronounced floral notes of orange blossom and hibiscus, followed by Meyer lemon, stone fruit, and ginger. On the palate, the wine has a bright, mouth-watering attack that is softened by an unctuous mouthfeel, with notes of citrus and fresh green grass leading into stone fruit.
