This is our first release of Monticello White under our Veritas label. We have bottled it a few times in our Momentarius line, a series of blends curated specifically for our Wine Club Members. Because it was so well received, and because it became an anticipated and exciting project in the cellar with the challenge of blending these unique white grapes while still finding balance, we decided it needed its own place in our lineup.
The main goal of this wine is to formulate a stylistic white blend made up of white grapes that are the most commonly planted in the Monticello AVA. The wine is gold in color, with pronounced aromas of white flowers, orange blossom, and acacia, followed of Meyer lemon, stone fruit, and ginger. On the palate, the wine has a bright, mouth-watering attack that is softened by the unctuous mouthfeel as notes of citrus and fresh green grass lead onto stone fruit, peach, apricot, and pineapple; hints of toasted coconut and ginger add to the wonderful complexity of this wine. The finish is complex and long-lasting. The wine has everything: balance, intensity, complexity, and a forever finish.
