Cabernet Franc

Cabernet Franc in the ‘Primeur’ style is one of my favorite reds to put together every year. It has all the niceties of a great Virginia Cabernet Franc, paired with an amazing vintage and ideal conditions for the grape. Our dedicated team hand-harvests the Cabernet Franc grapes and hand-sorts them in the vineyard to remove any fruit that may tarnish the vintage's true quality of the vintage. Our ‘primeur’ is a fruit-driven wine with notes of redcurrant and bramble fruit. The wine has been aged in oak for a short time, giving it a well-balanced mouthfeel, with light oak complementing the intense fruit character. The 2024 Cabernet Franc will be fruit-forward 1-3 years after the vintage, but will reveal more complexity and character with 5-10 years of bottle aging, allowing the Virginia “terroir” to balance the fruit core. This is a beautifully structured classic vintage Cabernet Franc.
